I have just returned from a wonderful few days in Milan. Thank you to low cost airlines for making travel around Europe affordable for all. It was my first time to the capital Milan in Northern Italy, flying over the picturesque snow capped mountains.
Our hostel was located close to public transport which was great for traveling around the city, plus Milan has uber. We found a local restaurant called ‘L’astoria’ with superb pizza, red wine and very light tiramisu (my diet out of window… but completely worth it). We then ventured on to a bar recommended to us called ‘Nottingham Forrest’, with an artistic range of cocktails. It is one of the 50 best bars in the world. I had a bathtub cocktail, it not only looked good but tasted great too!
The following day was filled with tourist activities such as visiting the Milan Cathedral. It was beautiful with stain glass art on each window. Near the Piazza was the entrance to the Galleteria which is a very fancy shopping mall. Even though, I couldn’t afford the shoes and bags it was great to be inspired by some of the designs. For lunch, I ordered one of my favourite Italian dishes Gnocci! The portion size was huge and definitely could have been a dish shared between two, I only could manage a quarter. The rest of the day was filled with wandering around the city and eating gelato.
In the evening, we went to the Dolce and Gabbana Martini Bar. It was situated in area which can only be described as similar to Mayfair in London. The bar was very chilled and suave. We went to another restaurant for dinner, I had pizza again but this time a Diavolo. It was the perfect way to end a very girly trip to Milan!
Grazie! xx
